The interview process was the usual: first a screening call with a recruiter, then an interview with a regular engineer, and finally a round with the hiring manager. They got back to me pretty quickly and the questions were pretty straightforward. Mostly about my past experience and some stuff about designing for manufacturing.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Could you describe your design process for a part that needs to be manufactured, given a specific scenario?
  • Given a scenario where you need to design a part for manufacturing, explain your design process and justify your selection of the manufacturing method.

So, it started with the application and resume submission. They posted the job, and I sent my stuff in. Then came the initial screening, where they reviewed applications and did a quick screening call. After that, it was the first round interview, which was a phone or video call. They mainly asked about basic skills, my experience, and if I'd fit in with the team. It also included some behavioral questions to see how I'd handle different work situations.

  • What's your understanding of this role?
  • Explain each job role.

I got referred to Plug Power and had an interview with the team pretty fast. The interview was on video and had 3 employees with me. They structured it to be super intimidating, interrupting each other a lot. Mostly behavioral questions, jumping around. They said they wanted another interview and set it up. I followed up after the last one, but 3 months later, no word back. Really bad experience and recruiting process for a company that's growing and wants to get good people. Glad I didn't get the job.
