First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Playtech.
Technical Support Specialist
I met with 3 team members for the interview. They asked me questions, told me about the company and what the job involves, and I also had a short written task. The whole experience was really pleasant and comfortable.
- Can you tell me what you know about our company?
- What motivated you to apply to Playtech?
- Could you describe your past experiences?
Engineering Manager
The interview journey kicked off with a quick 30-minute chat with the Hiring Manager. Then, there was another meeting with the Hiring Manager and the Director of Engineering (or someone pretty senior). After that, things got pretty technical with the Architect and two Engineering Managers, where we dove deep into architecture, tech decisions, and system design, plus some people management stuff. I also got a good feel for the company's teams, how they're set up, and their tech ways. The very last part was a wrap-up with the Hiring Manager to see if we were on the same page and what's next. Everyone was really friendly and happy to answer my questions, which made it super engaging. I had a blast and came away really impressed with the company and their interview style.
- Can you share your approach to resolving team conflicts?
- What's your background with Java and microservices?
Java Developer Intern
After applying, I got initial feedback explaining the process: first, some online tests, then a technical interview. The tests involved basic SQL, string manipulation, and a hashmap exercise, all to be done within 3 hours. Individual tasks had time limits but could be opened if needed. The technical interview was with a senior engineer and a team leader. I had to debug some code, add imports, and then find a missing number in an array of natural numbers. They wanted to see how I approached the problem and were helpful, for example, giving me a formula when I asked.
- What is your motivation for this role?
Product Designer
So I went through this whole 4-month hiring process and then got rejected. It was pretty rough since I was unemployed at the time. They said I was a top candidate throughout, and I did a design test, an in-person interview, and talked to talent acquisition like 5 times from September to January. But, they always took 2 weeks to get back to me, and in the end, they rejected me for vague and minor reasons. They told me I was a better fit for a UX senior role. This feedback came in late January, after 4 months of waiting. They decided to go with someone else.
- I was given a request for an end-to-end Product Design task with a 5-day deadline. Despite other work commitments, I had the chance to dedicate 3 days to the task.
- I have been asked to meet the recruitment staff in person.
