Sales Administrator
The interview had 3 steps: first a 30 min chat with talent acquisition, then a 1-hour video call with the manager, and finally a practical case study. The interview questions seemed simple at first but turned out to be hard to answer in depth. The recruiters expected candidates to analyze the company's organizational system and propose a new operating method for the sales department. However, this is complex, even unrealistic, given that the candidate has never worked for this company. It is therefore difficult for them to precisely identify organizational flaws and provide concrete solutions to problems they haven't faced.
- Can you present your background?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Tell me about a time you faced a difficult situation.
Account Executive
Business Development Representative
It was a 3 step interview: Screening, Case Study, Colleague Screening. The process was quite involved, with a task that takes over 3 hours to complete, which was uncompensated. The manager was nice but strict, and had a clear idea of how the tasks should be done. I felt uncomfortable as I was told from the start that I did the task wrong. The case study involved working through an entire sales cycle with a client, and I had to create a video using their platform, but I didn't get access to the platform initially. They weren't open to creative approaches. It was pretty awkward overall.
- Could you outline a 4-step email sequence for a customer?
- How would you create a video to capture a customer's interest?
- Describe your approach to structuring a cold call.
Customer Care Representative
I had a first interview with the recruiter which went well. He even asked me about my availability for a second interview with the manager. I told him I would send him an email to confirm. After our first chat, he sent me an email for more info on the position and company. When I replied to confirm my availability for a second interview, he told me they decided to move on with other candidates who were a better fit. I'm wondering why he was so quick to offer me a second interview and send me more info on the position and company if my profile wasn't a good match. This is even more surprising since he didn't ask any questions about my previous experiences, but instead asked about a personal project I didn't want to talk about!
- Can you introduce yourself, explain your motivations, your availabilities, and your salary expectations?
- Tell me about a personal project.
