Planful Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process was pretty standard and moved quickly. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn, and then I had meetings with the hiring manager and a team member. Everything was going well, and I liked meeting the team. The final interview was rough though, the interviewer was late and then took a phone call during our conversation. It was really unprofessional and distracting. It soured the whole experience. I would have declined an offer if one was made.

The interview process took a total of 2 weeks, with a total of 4 rounds. The first screening call with Sarah, the internal recruiter, went well. Next, I had a 30 min interview with the hiring manager. Then, I had a 45 min behavioral interview with the hiring manager and the team. Finally, I had a 30 minute interview with the VP of TechOps & Trust. After each interview, I received updates from the recruiter that the manager and team really liked me. Even after the final interview, Sarah told me that the team really loved me and enjoyed meeting me. 2 days following the final interview, I received an email that they went with other candidates. Why would you drag me through 4 rounds of interviews if you knew I wasn't the best candidate for this position? Why would you hype me up throughout the whole process just to waste my time in the end? Why does the VP need to have a final interview with me for the lowest level worker in their IT department? I immediately knew this company was a red flag after Sarah explained to me that there was going to be another 3 rounds of interviews after her first screening call. Beware of your time being wasted with Planful's interview process!

I was first contacted by the recruiter, and we scheduled a 30-minute phone call. She introduced the company, the role, and the product. Then I presented myself and my background, and had a chance to ask questions. After that, I had a 30-minute interview with the Sales Manager. Unfortunately, the meeting had to be rescheduled at short notice due to an emergency, which was a bit unfortunate but understandable. A few days later, the interview was successfully rescheduled. The conversation was very pleasant, with one or two more challenging questions that made me think, even though I was well-prepared. Overall, it was a positive and pleasant experience. The next step, which I haven't done yet, is a presentation. The entire hiring process takes about 2-3 weeks.

The interview process was really great, quick, and insightful. It was completed in under two weeks. The TA person was super responsive, and I got updates within 48 hours for each round. Round 1 was an intro with TA to discuss my background and salary expectations. Round 2 was with the Senior Director, who was awesome and asked about my background and basic FP&A knowledge. Round 3 was with the CPO, which was also fantastic! They asked insightful questions about Product Management, some domain knowledge, and mostly my past experiences. Round 4 was with the hiring manager, which was very interesting. We discussed expectations and how I could be resourceful for the company, covering basic to some domain-related questions. Round 5 was a case study to assess my problem-solving and presentation skills, after which I received the offer.
