First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pinkerton.
Analyst
This was one of those basic HR calls, not technical at all. They asked me basic questions and seemed surprised by my answers, like where I'm based, which they clearly hadn't checked on my CV. They also told me my required notice period of one to two months was too long.
- Would you be willing to work late nights and weekends?
Security Operator
The interview process involved three rounds: an initial HR screening, a follow-up interview, and a final client panel. It followed standard procedures with typical questions and expectations. There were no live or take-home exercises, but the focus was on assessing mindset and the ability to manage stress and adapt to rapid changes, with some directed questions.
- In a security setting, how would you manage stressful situations?
Operator
It took me about 20 days to go from applying to getting an offer. There were 3 rounds of interviews plus a case study. The first interview was a screen call, the second was with the direct supervisor for the position, and the third involved two other supervisors and operators who work with the job's clients. The case study wasn't too hard if you knew what they were looking for. I turned down the offer because they didn't pay enough and wouldn't negotiate on anything like the pay, benefits, or a signing bonus.
- Given a protest near our client's site in NYC, how would you assess the potential risks to the client?
Intelligence Analyst
So for this role, before my 30 min phone screen with the recruiter, they wanted a short 150-word writing sample. The prompt was to talk about a recent media item I found interesting, making sure to include the 5 Ws and H (who, what, when, where, why, how). After I sent that in and did the phone screen, the recruiter just disappeared and never gave me any feedback or updates, even after I reached out a few times. Just a heads-up for anyone else, be aware if a company ghosted you like this, they don't really respect your time.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Please discuss a recent media item of interest.
- For the media item, please provide the who, what, when, where, why, and how.
