First, I spoke with a recruiter who then said I was recommended to the hiring manager. It took over a month to get the meeting set up, and I only got a day's notice. They didn't call it an interview, but a "meet-and-greet," but it was apparently a half-baked interview. It was scheduled for 30 minutes, and the manager got annoyed when I had to leave for another interview after 45 minutes. They asked me to complete writing samples, which I did, and also provided some academic papers. The communication throughout the process was awful, which didn't help me have a successful process.

The interview process kicked off with a phone screening with HR, which also involved submitting a writing sample. Following that, I had an interview with my direct manager. The person who would be my boss was really considerate and focused on getting to know me rather than just trying to 'sell' the company. It felt more like a discussion about my expertise in risk management and intelligence. The final stage was a panel interview with the client I'd be working with, which usually involves similar questions but can be a bit more relaxed.

The first step was with HR, and it was really tough. They asked super specific questions about the pharma industry. Honestly, the HR person seemed really disengaged, like they were yawning the whole time, which felt unprofessional. They seemed rushed to fill the role, because I got moved to the next stage, a panel interview with 5 people, pretty quickly. I was a bit stressed going into it, but everyone on the panel asked good, typical questions and were nice. After that, though, I just got completely ghosted and never heard back.
