The interview process had just one interview with the hiring manager and another team member. The entire thing took forever. A recruiter got in touch to set up an interview, but we had to reschedule because the hiring manager had a scheduling conflict. They actually forgot to reschedule it, and I had to follow up and wait a week to hear back about an interview set for the very next day, last minute. The interview felt pretty relaxed; it was more behavioral than technical, fitting for an entry-level role. The hiring manager and the other interviewer seemed to like my profile and experience. They mentioned I'd hear back in about two weeks, or at most three, since they were still interviewing other people. After 3-4 weeks went by, I emailed the recruiter again, but got no reply at all. It wasn't until another two weeks later that they finally sent a rejection, after totally ghosting me.

I had a good start with Peraton; the people were nice and the hiring manager was great, making me think it was a good fit. The recruiter kept saying I was the top candidate, which set my expectations. Then, things changed without a word. The last interview, which they said was just a casual chat to ask questions, turned into a tough grilling session that should have happened earlier. The worst part was the silence after the final interview and again after another candidate was likely offered the job. No updates, just quiet for almost two weeks at the end. This lack of transparency made me feel like a backup and ruined the experience.

You start by submitting an application on the Peraton careers site or through a recruiter. Then, recruiters will look at your resume to see if you have the right technical skills, experience, and any required security clearance. After that, the recruiter will give you a call to talk about the job, the project, and the workplace. They will also check if you meet the basic requirements, if you're still interested, confirm your clearance status, and discuss your salary expectations.

The interview process was really simple and the questions they asked were super direct. It was mostly behavioral questions, like about how I manage my time and what my greatest skillset is. The interview itself was really pleasant and low-key.
