First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Peninsula.
Business Consultant
Within two weeks, I went through three interview rounds. The communication was great, with fast responses and a smooth process. I was extended an offer, which involved signing over 40 documents, including the contract and benefits paperwork. However, on January 2nd, I received an email stating my offer was rescinded due to my implied status. I had explained I was graduating from my graduate program and provided government proof that I was legally allowed to work without restrictions, even though my work permit hadn't been issued. It was a bittersweet experience because while things looked good, the way my implied status was handled, without the company considering alternatives, made me question if it was the right fit.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Sales Ledger Clerk
It was a 3 stage interview process. The first stage was a quick chat with HR to go over general questions and my suitability for the role. Then, the second stage was a teams interview with the hiring manager where they asked competitive based questions. Finally, the third stage was a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager and the director.
- Could you tell me about your general suitability for this role?
- What are your competitive strengths relevant to this position?
- Can you discuss your overall experience related to this job?
Marketing Executive
I interviewed for this about 5 or 6 months back. The first step was a recruiter call, then I had a Zoom meeting with someone I'll call M. It seemed to go well, she was very cheerful and friendly. After that, I was invited to the office for an in-person interview with my potential direct manager. I answered all questions perfectly, but I missed one about not knowing the name of a senior executive, which unfortunately impacted my performance. My main frustration, however, is with M's lack of communication. After the interview, I heard nothing for weeks, and I had to follow up multiple times just to get an update on how I did. She presented herself as friendly, but her actions showed otherwise.
- Can you name our senior leaders?
PR & Social Media Executive
Started with a chill video call with the hiring manager. Then, had a task to write a press release based on a news story and suggest publications, which I enjoyed. Finally, there was an in-person interview at their HQ with the hiring manager and two MDs. The setup felt a bit much, them sitting opposite me. The worst part was the office tour - the sales floor was loud with calls and loud music, which was really overwhelming and not what I expected from a company focused on wellbeing, especially since they don't do remote work. After that, I knew the job wasn't for me and I'd already accepted another offer.
- How would you handle disagreeing with a senior colleague's idea or request?
