& Process

I applied on LinkedIn. The first chat was with the recruiter to go over values and cultural fit, and some general experience stuff since the role needs some technical know-how. The second round was with the department manager, getting deeper into my experience to see if it matched what they're looking for. No case study yet, just seeing if my past work aligns. Then came the third round, which was a case study/exercise to complete. The final round, the fourth one, was presenting that case study/exercise to a group of 2-3 other candidates and the Patagonia team.

I applied and got an interview invite soon after, which made me excited since working for Patagonia has always been a goal. I prepped all weekend and even reread a book for inspiration. When I started the interview, the recruiter seemed rushed and asked to go off-camera briefly to get my application. He came back and said the invite was a mistake and they actually meant to reject me. He apologized and said we could still do the interview if I wanted, and that 'you never know what might happen.' I was surprised but stayed composed and felt I interviewed as well as I could. He then said I was 'very much still in the running' and I'd hear back within the week about next steps. It's been over a month with no further contact. I get that managing interviews for a big company is tough, but I'm really let down by how this was handled. It felt disrespectful and tactless. I know this might be a rare thing, but I'm frustrated by the lack of professionalism and tact.

I applied and got this assessment with some math, typing, and personal questions. They emailed me back after a few days to set up an interview. We talked on Google Meet for about 20 minutes. They introduced everyone, asked me 3 easy questions, and then let me ask questions. It was pretty chill and everyone was nice, I thought it would be harder.

I initially applied for an E-commerce Salesperson role, but they told me that position was taken and offered a similar one: a retail salesperson. Although I didn't apply for that, they mentioned it during the interview (this was in 2023). I attended an in-person interview with the manager and another girl, who was incredibly rude. She barely looked at me during the entire interview, constantly making faces of disgust. Her attitude was so unprofessional that it made me very uncomfortable. She was part of the sales staff. The manager asked her if she wanted to ask me a question, and she, with her hand on her face in a resting position, said no. I suggest that if you don't have the professionalism for an interview, you shouldn't be conducting one.
