Data Abstractor
I interviewed for a team lead position, but they ended up offering me a data abstractor role. The interview itself was pretty easy, and the manager and team members were really helpful in explaining the role. My experience with the recruiter, though, wasn't great. I asked her some questions that she didn't know the answers to and had to go to HR. By the end of the week, she still hadn't gotten back to me. Then, on Monday, she sprung a 5 pm deadline on me to decide, saying we'd been going back and forth since Wednesday and she needed an answer ASAP. I thought this was pretty rude because she was the reason for the delay and acted like I was the one holding things up. It was also unclear if they were definitely offering me the job or if it depended on my question's answer, so I wasn't ready to give her a decision when she demanded one.
- How would you deal with conflict?
Manager In Training
I applied online, and then had to complete a behavioral assessment. After that, I had a call with a recruiter. She was really late calling me and just launched into talking about the role super fast, making it hard to take notes. She only asked me three questions, and her responses to my answers felt robotic and rehearsed, like she wasn't really listening. I got a rejection email four days later, late at night, which was disappointing since I prepped for about 4 hours.

- Given your healthcare background, do you prefer working in a hospital or a doctor's office setting, and in which department?
Consulting .NET Developer
The interview process had two technical rounds, not really interview-style. Everything from talking to the recruiter to getting an offer took under two weeks. They seemed to be in a hurry, moving interviews up. After I accepted, things got messy. The offer letter had the wrong job ID, and the pay was listed annually when I applied for contract-to-hire at an hourly rate. The HR person didn't know about the job ID, and the recruiter said that position was filled. I still went ahead and signed a new offer with a start date three weeks out. Then came tons of emails and forms: background check, I-9 requiring an appointment, and a drug test. After 16 days, no background check results, and my start date was five days away with no equipment. I decided to back out due to the disorganization, sending an explanation to HR, who never replied. Two days after my planned start, the background check company needed my original diploma from 30 years ago and more docs. It was all super confusing and overcomplicated, and I'm glad I didn't go through with it.
- Can you discuss OOP concepts, abstraction, and interfaces?
- What's your experience with SQL?
Manager
I applied for a Manager-In-Training role at Parallon to break into Healthcare Management, even considering a pay cut. The recruiter called me a couple of days after I applied for an initial phone screening to check my experience and goals. They scheduled my first interview for that same day. The first hiring manager saw that my past management and finance experience would be better suited for a higher role in a different department and recommended I interview with that department's manager. I got a call within two weeks for the second interview, which was very professional and thorough. An offer came a week after the second interview, and I accepted! The whole process felt very professional, and I feel I earned this role. Can't wait to start!
- What's your approach to prioritizing tasks?
- Can you share a situational question about how you would respond to staff actions?
