First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Papa Murphys.
Director of Marketing
It was a mix of virtual and in-person interviews. Started with 3 virtual rounds, then moved to an in-person stage. They asked about my marketing experience, my general approach, and how I'd make the company stand out when there's so much competition.
- How do you plan strategically on an annual basis?

It was quick and straight to the point! My boss was great and handled everything fast and efficiently. I could easily get answers to any questions or concerns without any issues. They were well prepared, neat, and organized. They also let me know the situation as soon as it was available to them!
- Was asked if I had reliable transportation.
- Was asked what I honestly expected to make for the job position.

I went through 2 interviews with the manager. It all went pretty good. We chatted about D&D and the store. He had me memorize a specialty pizza and its toppings. I did that and called him back a week later to recite it. He then set up the second interview. That one went so well that I completed some hiring paperwork. He told me I was hired at a store nearby and they'd call me. Four weeks passed, and after I called them like 2-3 times per week, I finally heard from the assistant store manager. They said they decided not to hire me. It was super unprofessional and rude to make me wait for weeks. I wish I'd at least been told before wasting all my time.
- Are you good at memorizing things?
- Do you collaborate well with others?

I walked into the store and they told me to print my application from their website. I didn't hear back for about a week, so I called them and got an interview. When I got there, the manager who was supposed to interview me wasn't there yet. After two hours, the manager called saying she was sick, so I had to do the interview with the assistant manager. They lost my application, so I had to fill out another one while waiting. The interview itself was short, no more than 10 minutes. The assistant manager was really nice and around my age, so we got along well. I'm waiting to hear back soon.
- What high school did you go to?
- Can you tell me what customer service means to you?
- What are your thoughts on having someone your age as a supervisor?
