First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Own Company.
Software Engineer
The interview process started with a quick 15-minute chat with the recruiter to go over some basic stuff about me. Then there was a 30-minute tech assessment, which was pretty intense with a really tight time limit for each question, so no mistakes allowed. After that, I had an hour-long interview that was split into two parts: the first 30 minutes was a coding assessment with one interviewer, and the next 30 minutes was with another person where we talked about a puzzle and I had to come up with an algorithm for it. The final round was a 30-minute behavioral interview. The recruiter kept in touch after each stage.

Software Engineer
We started with about 15 minutes of introductions about me, the company, and the role. Then, we spent 10 minutes discussing my previous work experience. Following that, there was a 30-minute technical exercise. Finally, we wrapped up with a short discussion about my career aspirations and my motivations for seeking a new opportunity.

Marketing
I interviewed with HR to start and then with the direct report. After a take home assessment, I was assigned two more interviews. While the assessment went fine, the interviews after were completely useless. After being ghosted for a week and told about a reschedule for an interview, I was told the role is paused hiring for 2 months. What??? So you wasted my time, your employees, and everyone in between and couldn't determine this before? This didn't sound legit and they just couldn't outright reject me. Very very unprofessional and embarrassing behavior by HR. If this is how they treat potential employees imagine how they treat the clients they work with.

Sales Representative
Recruiter reached out. Did an initial phone screen and it went well. Then had a chat with Sales Management which also went well. Moving on nicely. The last interview was with Upper Sales Management, and they asked me why I had left my previous company. I disclosed a medical disability and a setback I experienced in my last role, and the interview ended quickly after that. I got my rejection email just four hours later, stating I wasn't selected to move forward. During the process, I remembered Own Technologies emphasized their anti-discrimination culture, which is why I applied. Even though I explained I was fully capable of working and had no ongoing issues from my condition, I soon realized my situation would be a deal-breaker. It was disappointing because I thought Own had good technology. My advice if you have a disability: don't disclose it during your interviews, because you'll be immediately disqualified!
