Software Engineer
I had two interview rounds that went really well, and I think I nailed most of the questions. The panel seemed happy with my answers. The second round had a technical part, and I felt I did great there too. But now, it's been like 20 days, and I haven't heard anything back. I reached out to HR a few times, and the first time they said they didn't have the feedback yet. Since then, no replies to my calls or emails. It's super frustrating to give your best and then be ignored like this. At least they could let you know something, good or bad. Just ghosting is unprofessional and rude. This delay made me miss out on other chances. I'd tell others to be careful about this company, it feels like they don't notice or care about good work.
- Can you discuss your experience with Asp.Net Core?
- Tell me about your SQL knowledge.
- How have you worked with microservices?
Nodejs Developer
I went through 2 HR and 3 technical interviews, which was one of the toughest I've experienced. The questions were appropriate, and the atmosphere was comfortable, not tense. I got feedback really fast, which I appreciated. They don't expect you to know everything beforehand; they want to see how you handle unknown problems. I had many situations where I didn't know the answer but thought through it, and I still got hired. Overall, I'm satisfied.
- How did you handle difficult situations?
UX/UI Designer
Started with HR, then talked to the UX/UI lead in Bucharest, followed by a Design Principle in Israel. Then I got a home assignment where I had to work on their product. I actually improved their product, did some research overnight, and came up with great ideas that they noted down to discuss. The last interviews were with the UX lead in Romania and another lead in the USA. They said my assignment was great and they were impressed, and jokingly asked if they could use my ideas. I said yes, but only if I get hired so I can implement them myself. After all this, some random HR called to say they were going with someone with more experience, without any real feedback, even when I asked. It was unprofessional after I invested over 24 hours. I feel like they just wanted ideas and didn't want to hire designers, especially since the job post was still up for weeks.
- What are your general thoughts on UX?
- Could you walk us through your research process for the assignment?
- Please present the final UIs you created for the assignment.
Senior Role
The recruiter was chewing gum and asked where I was from three times. First, they asked 'where are you from?' and I said 'From X state'. Then they asked 'Really? that's an accent from that state?' and I said 'yes, I've moved around the country...etc.' I tried to steer the conversation back to important topics. A bit later, I noticed him staring quietly. Knowing what he was going to ask, and without calling out that it's unethical and discriminatory, I politely said 'I know what you are going to ask. Maybe that is a question for later in the process if I'm onboarded.' He then said 'No, I thought you were a different nationality!'. I was incredibly uncomfortable and shocked. He also couldn't answer my basic questions. What were they thinking having this person interview senior-level candidates? I was afraid he was going to blow a bubble. After weeks of ghosting me, I got a rejection letter.
