Optym Interview Questions
& Process

There were 5 rounds in total. 3 were technical interviews, 1 was a managerial interview, and 1 was an HR round. The difficulty varied across the first three rounds. The first round was with a Software Engineer, the second with a senior developer, and the third with an engineering manager or staff engineer.

The interview process started with a 2.5-hour computer programming test focusing on a data structure problem, which I found to be a positive experience with a helpful interviewer. This was followed by lunch, then an oral interview with the same person. Finally, there was a second oral interview with a dummy architect who commented on the programming test. My suggestion to Optym Mgmt is to remove people like the second interviewer ASAP, as they could turn Optym into a poor place to work.

The interview was tough, and a great experience until I talked with the president. This man told me that Americans are disloyal and cannot be trusted. I was ready to take the job until that moment. I held my composure and was polite. As a military veteran I have never been accused of having a lack of loyalty, integrity, or anything short of an outstanding performance. I have awards and accolades from every place I have ever worked. I was offered the job but turned them down just because of that bad experience. My thought was that if anything ever went wrong he would blame the American, and if job promotions and bonuses were ever to be handed out, he would skip the American because he feels we are not loyal and cannot be trusted.

applied on linkedin and went through two telephonic technical rounds. Then i was called for F2F interview. The whole process took over one month. It was a long and tough process.
