Behavioral Other

The interview experience at Officeworks was super fast and smooth. The person interviewing me asked me general stuff about myself, when I could work, and why I wanted the job at Officeworks. They also threw in a few straightforward scenario questions, like what I'd do in a really busy moment or how I'd help a customer who's being a pain. It felt pretty chill and friendly overall. Definitely an easy interview process.

Other

The recruitment process for this casual role at Officeworks involved a third-party AI tool called HireVue. It required my consent for them to use my name, likeness, and voice. I found this totally unacceptable for a casual retail position, and frankly, for any job.

Behavioral Technical

The Officeworks interview journey was pretty straightforward, checking for both my tech skills and how I deal with customers. It kicked off with sending in my application online, then a quick phone chat where they asked about my schedule, if I could legally work there, and just generally if I was keen on the job. After that, I met the store manager in person. We talked about situations involving customer help, working with others, and sorting out technical problems. They also wanted to know how I'd figure out usual tech issues customers might have in the store. The whole thing felt pretty relaxed and moved fast, and it was cool they cared about me being flexible and a good communicator, not just about the tech stuff.

So after I applied, they sent me this Hirevue virtual screening thing, it had like 6 video questions and 2 games. Then, I had a 2 on 1 interview over Teams with the hiring manager and the area manager.
