Technical Recruiter
I applied to this role through handshake when I was a senior in college. A Human Resources Recruiter from OCBang reached out and invited me to a video screen. During the screen, she asked about my experience, and when I didn't have prior recruiting experience, she laughed condescendingly and stared at me as if I was wasting her time. She ended the video call very quickly. This gave me a very bad impression, and I would not apply again or recommend OCBang. They should screen candidates better, not look at them with disgust, and sound more interested. It's their job to engage with candidates.

Data Analyst Intern
I reached out to the HR on LinkedIn and the first step was a tech assessment. The assessment involved identifying the departments of 100 Facebook employees using their LinkedIn profiles. I used Python Regex and other technical skills, along with common sense, to find keywords that might indicate their department. However, I found this tech assessment very difficult and nonsensical. Some employee profiles had minimal information, just generic titles like 'Engineering Manager', making it impossible to determine their department. I even checked with friends at Facebook, and they confirmed that getting department info from LinkedIn profiles is not possible unless you're an employee. After submitting the assessment, I received no follow-up from the company, no email or call to inform me about my status. It felt like a complete waste of time, especially since they expect potential interns to do this for unpaid positions.
- Could you determine the departments of 100 Facebook employees by analyzing their LinkedIn profiles, using tools like Python Regex and common sense to identify relevant keywords?
Market Researcher
My interview with Ocbang was really unprofessional. The HR person was weird from the start, asking more about other jobs I applied to than about me for this role. It felt like they were prying and not focused on the job. They also didn't seem to know the job description and couldn't answer questions. They were dismissive and it felt fake and rude. After the interview, I emailed for feedback, which is normal, but they never replied. This shows they don't care about candidates and don't give useful info. Overall, Ocbang's interview process lacked professionalism, was intrusive, and had bad communication, especially about feedback. It was a bad first impression, and I hope they improve how they interview and talk to candidates.
- What other roles are you pursuing?
Market Research Analyst
It was a call interview, mostly behavioral questions and a self-introduction. They asked about my internship experience, even if I had already covered it during the self-introduction. The interview was conducted in both English and Mandarin. I also had the chance to ask them some questions. There were no questions about professional knowledge.
- Tell me about your past internship.
- Describe your internship experience.
- What did you do during your internship?
