Dishwasher
So I went in for the interview, and the guy told me that the job I applied for wasn't actually available and that he already had all the young people he needed. It felt like a waste of gas just to get there. He did offer me a job cleaning the floor for like 5 hours a week, but I turned it down.
- Can you tell me about your previous job before your last one?

You can get an interview pretty easily after you apply and meet the qualifications. They usually reply within a day and the interview is about 30 minutes. The manager is pretty cool.
- When are you free to work?
- Tell me something interesting about yourself.

Seven years ago, I applied in person, which was a good way to make a strong first impression. After I filled out the application, the manager on duty got it and came out to talk to me after a few minutes. We spoke for about 30 minutes, and he asked me about my previous work experience and what I expected from the job. He also let me ask some questions. Afterwards, he said he'd call me the next afternoon to let me know if I got the job because he wanted the other managers to have a chance to look at the applications too. The next morning, he called and asked me to come in to complete the paperwork, and he gave me my training schedule.
- What makes you stand out from other candidates?
Hostess
I applied online and heard back within a couple of days. The first interview was the next week with the Bar Manager. It was pretty informal, and we covered basic questions. He also talked about uniforms and workplace rules, then set me up for the second interview with the General Manager the week after. The GM went over everything again, talked about how much the location has improved and will be remodeled, and asked if I could handle a stressful environment. I was told I'd get a call by Monday about the job.
- What's your understanding of integrity?
- Do you think you can handle a high-pressure work environment?
