First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Novant Health.
Clinical Research Coordinator
The interview process involved three rounds. It started with a basic HR screening via phone call. This was followed by a video interview with the department manager. The final round was an in-person interview with the department manager, which also included a one-on-one meeting and a site overview with a potential peer employee. All interactions were professional, respectful of my time, and the interviewers were friendly and encouraging. I received positive feedback at the end of the in-person interview, along with a projected timeline for the hiring decision. I really liked that they let me meet potential colleagues and see the facility with a peer, which gave me a good sense of the team dynamics and whether I'd fit in. However, the overall timeline has been very long. The position was posted 7 months ago, and I didn't hear back for an initial interview for 4 months. After the initial call, things moved a bit faster towards the in-person interview. But it's now been over 2 months since that interview, and they've passed the original timeframe they gave for a decision. I sent a follow-up email a week after the in-person interview and another one after the decision timeframe passed, but I never got a response to either. It seems like this poor communication might be a pattern with Novant, as I've seen similar reviews. As a professional, I expect better courtesy than being ghosted, especially after investing significant time and effort. At least a brief rejection notice would be polite. The Novant job search dashboard is also unhelpful in tracking the status. If you interview, I'd recommend asking directly if you'll be notified either way once the hiring process concludes, and definitely don't expect a quick turnaround.

Regional Trainer
Got an invite for a phone screening, passed it and was moved to an in-person interview. The in-person interview got rescheduled and moved to a virtual interview. Both interviews went well, and they said they would move me up to the third round, which would be a panel interview in about a week. I emailed the recruiter a thank you, but got no response. Two weeks later, I emailed the recruiter again asking for a status update, still no response. Finally, I found the contact information for the person who interviewed me, thanked them for their time, and asked for a status update if possible. 5 days later, I got a generic reject email.

VP Service Line
I had a really disappointing experience with a recruiter for an executive role. The first call was super unengaged, just reading questions. She cut it short due to a scheduling conflict and we rescheduled. The next day's interview was a bit better in tone but still felt like she wasn't interested and didn't even look at my resume. She told me my next interview was with the physician executive and to wear a sport coat, which was odd. I got an email about next steps, which was exciting, but then two hours later another email saying they went with someone else. It felt really unprofessional for an executive search.
- Can you tell me about your years of leadership experience?
Data Scientist
The interview was a two-step process, very relaxed. I described my skillset there was no technical component. The interview was structured as a two-step process that allowed for a very relaxed atmosphere. The first part was primarily focused on getting to know each other, where I had the opportunity to introduce myself and describe my skillset in detail. I highlighted my relevant experiences, the projects I had worked on, and the specific skills I developed over the years. This casual conversation allowed the interviewer to gain insight into my personality and my approach to problem-solving, making it feel less like a formal assessment and more like a mutual exploration. Interestingly, there was no technical component in the interview. Instead, the focus was on soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability. We discussed hypothetical scenarios that might arise in the workplace and how I would handle them. This format really helped me showcase not only my qualifications but also my ability to think critically and engage with others. Overall, the relaxed nature of the process made it an enjoyable experience, allowing for a genuine exchange of ideas and thoughts.
