Marketing Coordinator
I had two interviews. They were pretty general and easy. The second one is where they tell you about the actual position. They advertise this position as an entry level marketing position but it is door to door SALES. The hours are 11:00am-7:00pm. It is also 100% commission. I felt extremely misled after learning that the position was actually door to door sales. There were probably 15 people interviewing in just the hour that I was there and I see they are still advertising the position. The company needs to be more transparent by changing the title of the position.

Marketing Account Coordinator
Ok, so I'm writing this super long review because I wanted to lay out my whole experience with NorthGate MN. I took a lot of notes because I read some reviews on here before my interview and realized that I really wanted to document my experience and provide insights. I first saw this company on LinkedIn for a 'Junior Marketing Account Coordinator' position. The job description mentioned things like 'customer assistance/client mgmt.', 'monitoring sales activities', needing 'experience with CRM', and 'excellent communication skills for public speaking, presentations, and CRM'. I applied because those things sounded interesting to me (and just to be clear, I'm not interested in sales). I did this only after briefly visiting their website. I thankfully did some digging on North Gate on Glassdoor after I scheduled a first-round interview, and I'm grateful for the previous posters. They called me the day after I applied, which seems like they're just looking for whoever they can get. The job description mentioned 'sales' only once, but it turned out to be the main part of the job. They never mentioned anything about door-to-door residential/commercial selling. It was really deceiving, but I'm glad I found out before the interview. Because I read reviews about people in the same situation (expecting a different role, but North Gate being deceptive about it being door-to-door sales), I was hesitant and considered canceling the interview. But I decided to go anyway since I had already scheduled it and figured it'd be good practice and I had nothing else to do. Plus, I wanted to confirm my suspicions. The interview itself was fine. There were three other people in the waiting room, which seemed like a lot, and I expected this from reading other reviews. While I was waiting for 10 minutes, maybe two more people interviewing left. The receptionist was friendly. She had me fill out an application on a clipboard when I arrived, which I also expected from reading reviews. It seemed weird since I had already been approved for an interview. It was basic application stuff and kind of sloppy since one question asked about my potential 'internship' timeline even though it was a full-time entry-level role. I interviewed with Trey, who seems like an alright enough guy. It's a shame he's running a deceptive operation, but he was polite and personable. He's clearly been doing this a while and is good at sweet-talking you and building rapport. I might have been more upset about the company trying to trick people into door-to-door sales if he hadn't been so friendly and complimentary. I obviously saw through it, but I can see how people who don't know better get roped into this. I wanted to confirm my suspicions from the reviews I'd read. So, I answered his questions about my background, like 'why do you think you're a good fit', something about experiences, and something about where my motivation comes from. I honestly wasn't really interested, so I don't remember exactly what he asked besides the motivation one. I gave the typical cliche answers. It shouldn't matter though, because if you're still reading this, you definitely should NOT be trying to work there.

Account Coordinator
The informational interview gave me a good feel for the vibe and the culture. It’s a young, fun company looking for entry-level employees to train and develop their marketing/sales consulting teams. Hands-on paid training was definitely a plus coming out of college. I related well to the managers and to the employees that helped me through the interview process. I appreciated the help in the lobby too; the girl was super sweet and talkative and played good music.

Account Executive
The first round interview was an informational session about the company. I got to the interview and saw several people interviewing, which is a bad sign. I waited in their waiting room listening to loud music. The interviewer was robotic and cold, sticking to his questions and only giving brief company info. The entire interview lasted about 10-15 minutes, something that could have been a phone call. The company seems like a startup with an unstable job.
