The interview process is pretty tough with a lot of interview rounds. You'll meet with different people from the business, like one-on-one or with stakeholders. Your last interview will be with the head of the department.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

This was a 13 round interview process. The first round was with the hiring manager and the Director of Research. Then there were a few more rounds with PMs or analysts from different teams to make sure everything lined up. The main part was a case study on a semi company I'd never worked with before. They gave me two weeks for it and then I had to present to about 15 people, mostly the ones who had already interviewed me, for over two hours. It was a really challenging and in-depth discussion. After the presentation, there were two short follow-up rounds for more questions, and then I got the offer.

The interview process was conducted in a highly professional manner. After submitting your application, you get invited to an assessment center with multiple candidates. If you pass this stage and are shortlisted, you move on to interviews with the manager and the head of fund operations. The whole process is quick and efficient, making it easy to go through. While they do check your skills, this job is for fresh grads, so they also want to see how you fit the team, your personality, and what unique things you can bring. Be yourself!

Behavioral Technical Group Presentation Case

So you start with an online application. Then you have a first round with HR, pretty chilled, about 30 mins. After that, it's an assessment center day in Cape Town (they fly you down). It's got four parts: first, a SWOT analysis for a company using internet and reports, takes like 1.5 hours. Then, you present your SWOT to a panel of department heads and they'll ask questions. This presentation is key for deciding who moves to round three. Next, there's a panel interview with two global heads and a senior trader, very relaxed, just getting to know you and if you fit. They might ask about your career stream preference (Ops or Investments). Finally, a group exercise where you work with others on a business case, like deciding a budget for expansion. This part is about teamwork and interaction. Round three is with various departments, team leaders and managers, really trying to know you, your work style, goals, and especially culture fit. It can be intense as they schedule them back-to-back, 30 mins each. Round four is with the global head of the department most interested in you, it's more of a formality to get to know you and your interests, no new questions really. First, third, and fourth rounds can be via video call if you're not in Sandton.
