First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ninety One.
Analyst
Went through two interviews. First was with a junior co-PM, then a second one with both the junior and senior co-PMs. The interviews were good and mostly focused on stocks. A bummer though, they never got back to me with a decision.
- Let's discuss the stock pitches you sent us before the interview.
Analyst
The interview kicked off with an initial chat with the hiring manager, which was pretty chill. After that, I had a case study interview with a bunch of managers. The main interviewer was on Skype, but the others were right there in the room with me, firing questions. I honestly felt like I didn't get nearly enough time to prep for the case study, especially since I already had a full-time job back then.
- What are your top market picks and pans?
- Questions regarding specific companies, industry trends, company fundamentals, and financials.
Analyst
It was three calls, went pretty fast and smooth. They asked about market outlook, fund pitch, and my current portfolio composition as well as macro outlook on specific asset classes or sectors. For me, they brought up emerging market debt, which was okay since I'm from a latam family office.
- What is the general macro outlook and your outlook on specific asset classes, like emerging market debt?
