First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ninety One.
Intern
The interview process was really well structured. The assessment day lasted all day, but it felt pretty chill and gave us a chance to chat with analysts at different levels (junior and senior) to learn more about the areas we were most interested in. The latter part of the day included a group discussion that was like a logical reasoning/debate activity. Senior analysts were there, watching how we debated, reasoned, and applied logic.
- If you had £1m to invest, where would you put it?
Intern
The process started with my CV, then some written answers, and prerecorded interviews. After that, there was an assessment centre with speed interviews and a stock pitch. A networking event was also part of it, which wasn't really an interview, but it was a good chance to make an impression.
- If you had £5 million to invest, how would you do it?
- What are your reasons for wanting to go into Asset Management?
- What key learnings have you taken from your university studies?
Intern
I went through 3 rounds of assessment. It included a team challenge where we talked about our SWOT analysis for investment, then an individual interview where I presented my idea, and finally a more chill HR/manager interview.
- Could you explain your interest in Asset Management?
- What makes you interested in Ninety One specifically?
- Why are you interested in this particular company?
