First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nextech Systems.
Visual Content Specialist
The interview process was pretty structured and professional. It kicked off with a chat with a recruiter to go over my resume, talk about what the job involves, and figure out salary stuff. Then, I had three interviews with people on the Nextech marketing team. We dug more into my experience and how it fits the role. They kept me in the loop about everything and told me the timelines beforehand. I liked that they talked about more than just skills, like how I'd fit with the team and how the job helps the company's bigger goals. The background check was thorough, as expected, and they were always responsive. All in all, it was a really organized and clear process.

DevOps Engineer
The interview process was a letdown. The interviewers didn't seem very technically competent and missed some depth in specific areas. During the video interview, they hit me with questions about technologies not listed in the job description or on my resume. After the interview, the feedback was really vague, just saying I wasn't chosen. When I asked why, they said it was due to my lack of experience with certain technologies, but they never specified which ones in the job description. This lack of clarity on what they actually wanted and changing the goalposts after seeing my background is a waste of everyone's time and erodes trust. Having clearer expectations from the start would make the hiring process much smoother and more efficient.
- They asked several questions that were vague and unfocused.
- Some questions seemed designed to probe my weaknesses rather than assess my actual skills or relevant experience.
- This suggested the team might not have been well-prepared or technically aligned with the role's requirements.
Quality Engineering Manager
The recruitment process was really smooth, starting with Tonie and then the HR team led by Tori, who were super responsive and helpful. It took a few weeks to schedule everything, which is normal, but I was impressed. They asked smart questions without much repetition. First, there was a timed cognitive test that I did on my own time, which felt fair. Then, all the interviews were remote via Zoom. I met the hiring manager, Ashiq, first, and he gave off good vibes. Next, I had a pair interview with two current QA Eng managers. The third interview was with a Lead QA, Nova, who asked really targeted questions, showing good prep. The fourth interview was a pair session with a QA and a Developer, both professional and asked significant questions. The final interview was with three members of the Development leadership team, and although it could have been intimidating, they made me feel comfortable. I got more excited about Nextech with each stage. It’s refreshing to be treated with respect and professionalism, especially given some bad interview experiences I've had.
- How would you describe your leadership style?
Marketing
So, this interview experience was pretty wild. The hiring manager was all over the place, sometimes really critical, then super supportive, and then cracking jokes. After she really let me have it, I thought for sure I wouldn't get a second interview. But then, out of nowhere, the vibe shifted, and I was told I was moving on and they scheduled the next interview. They mentioned they wanted to hire by mid-November and expected about 4-5 interviews in total. The day before my second interview, it got cancelled because they were changing up their hiring process. I never heard back after sending a couple of follow-up emails. Then, I got a rejection email saying they'd already hired someone, which means they must have gone through at least three or four interviews with another candidate before they even finished with me. It's all very confusing.
- Can you share examples of how you've leveraged marketing tools to execute successful campaigns previously?
