First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Naaptol.
Software Engineer
For the Trainee Software Engineer role, the process included 3 main rounds: first, a Technical + Aptitude Online assessment which had pseudo codes, MCQs, and aptitude questions. Then, there was an L1 Technical interview followed by an L2 Technical interview. Both the L1 and L2 rounds were entirely focused on technical questions and coding problems covering technologies like Java, JavaScript, SQL, collection frameworks, Hibernate, JQuery, HTML, CSS, JSP, and Servlets.
- Could you explain what a collection is in Java?
- Can you describe what JSP and Servlets are?
- What are the differences between JSP and Servlets?
Software Tester
There were 3 rounds in this company. The first round was an aptitude test where they asked questions based on manual testing, some SQL, and some other aptitude topics. The second round was a technical interview where they asked questions related to manual testing and SQL. The third round was an HR interview.
- Can you explain STLC?
- What are the test case design techniques?
- Describe the bug life cycle.
Java Developer
The interview process started with an aptitude and technical MCQ round (25 aptitude questions, 20 technical questions). This was followed by a technical interview. My guess is the next rounds were a GD and then an HR round. I was eliminated during the technical round. I did clear the aptitude part. Some of my friends made it to the GD round and are now awaiting their next step. The company's response time is really slow, and they don't even bother to inform you if you're out of the process.
- Can you explain the hashcode method in core Java?
- What is an abstract method?
- What is an interface?
QA Analyst
The interview process started with an aptitude test, which included 20 manual testing questions and 10 SQL questions, mostly from the ISTQB question bank. The second round was a technical interview where they asked about all the concepts of manual testing. The final round was in Mumbai with the CTO. The CTO asked questions based on my resume and potentially outside of it. They didn't ask any manual testing questions, but rather asked about FTP, SMTP (port number), decimal to hexadecimal conversion, and IP addresses.
- Could you explain the defect life cycle?
- What is regression testing and retesting?
- Describe exploratory testing.
