Project Manager
The interview process was really clear and moved pretty fast, taking about two weeks from the first interview to the last. It involved five stages: first, a recruiter chat, then talking with the Sr. Director of Customer Success, followed by the VP of Customer Experience, then the Manager of Customer Success Engineers, and finally, the VP of Sales & Account Management. I was told exactly what to expect, so there were no surprises. Everyone I met was accommodating, efficient, helpful, and thorough throughout the interviews. They answered all my questions and even gave helpful feedback.
- Given a specific scenario involving a customer or employee, how would you handle it?
- In your experience, what are the three main causes of project failure?
- What aspect of project management do you find the most difficult?
QA Engineer
Reached out to a recruiter on LinkedIn. First up was a technical phone screen with standard questions about my background, the job, and company vibe. Super smooth start! Then, I had an hour-long Zoom with 3 engineering folks for general tech questions and a LeetCode problem. After that, another hour-long Zoom with 3 different engineers. They went through my resume and asked about my past experiences – honestly, the best interview ever, super chill and friendly. Shoutout to the recruiter, by the way, they were amazing at scheduling and keeping me in the loop. The last interview was just a quick chat to help me decide between two different role options.
- What's your learning style?
Account Manager
The interview process was great. After an initial screening call, the HR Recruiter did an excellent job. They communicated promptly and quickly arranged all subsequent meetings with the hiring manager, a peer, and four other individuals (totaling 6, including the recruiter). Following the recruiter's interview, I met with the hiring manager. The interviews with the other four team members happened very smoothly and rapidly. I enjoyed speaking with everyone I interviewed with, and they asked relevant questions for the role. A highlight was that each interviewer seemed genuinely happy with their jobs and contributions at Moogsoft, making the company more appealing compared to others I was interviewing with at the time. An offer was extended shortly after.
- Can you share an experience where you had to manage a challenging client?
Software Engineer
I got a questionnaire with some fun questions about me, like what I'd do in a zombie movie, and then a brief phone chat. After that, there was a coding test. Then, I had an in-person interview. It started with the HR manager, which felt more like a casual chat. Moogsoft really values learning, so they emphasized wanting candidates who are eager to learn continuously. The technical part was with two of their software developers. They asked about my coding test responses, Java basics, and OOP. I also had to do a coding problem on a whiteboard. One of the developers was great and helpful, but the other was really condescending. Every time I made a mistake, he'd give an exasperated look to his colleague, which was pretty obvious. During the whiteboard task, he kept huffing and puffing to his colleague when I messed up, even though I was right there and could hear him. Even with that one person, I still think Moogsoft seems like a good place to work with friendly people. I just felt embarrassed by that one colleague's behavior.
- Can you explain why agile methodology is preferable to the waterfall model?
- What motivates you to start your day?
