First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moody's Investors Service.
Senior Associate
It was a 3 round interview process. They gave us enough time and it was well organized. I thought it was professional and ran smoothly. It was well aligned and arranged. The HR and recruiter were professional and gave us enough info and support during the interview process. The interviewers were great and friendly too.

Analyst
Had a quick 5 min chat with a recruiter. Then the coordinator set up 3 interviews, each 30 mins long. About halfway through the second 30 min session, the interviewer asked if I already understood the day-to-day and if I'd be willing to move to NYC, which wasn't mentioned initially as the job was posted in City X. No word back from the recruiter in over 4 weeks, even though they said they'd update me either way the following week.
- Can you tell me about yourself and why you're interested in this position?
- Do you feel you understand the daily responsibilities of the role?
- Would you be open to relocating to New York City for this job?
Software Engineer
I applied for the Senior Software Engineer role via referral. The interview process involved two rounds with the VP and SVP of Software Engineering, which were completed within two weeks of my application. The engineering interviewers were professional. About a week later, a recruitment coordinator requested my current employment details, payslip, and identity proof for background checks. Almost four weeks after that, the recruiter scheduled an HR discussion. The recruitment coordinator handled salary negotiations, which was unusual and unprofessional; they were aggressive and disorganized. I wasn't informed about the feedback from my interviews. The coordinator presented a low salary offer, citing budget constraints, which was less than a 10% increase from my current salary. I asked for a salary breakup via email, but they declined, calling it confidential. I was hoping for a Letter of Intent, not a formal offer letter. They didn't explain why budget constraints weren't mentioned earlier. After the salary discussion, there was no update for a week. I emailed for a follow-up, but received no response. Their attitude and wasted time on interviews raise questions about their professional ethics and whether they have moral grounds to assess others, especially given their outdated introductory email about Moody's Investor Service.
- Can you discuss the projects and technologies listed on your resume?
Administrative Assistant
The process was lengthy, spanning about 4-5 weeks, with four interviews conducted both online and face-to-face. Despite the multiple stages, HR did not provide the outcome. Initial follow-ups indicated the process was ongoing, but subsequent emails went unanswered. The final result was communicated via a LinkedIn message from a manager in Stockholm, stating that another candidate had accepted the offer. This lack of professional communication from HR was quite disappointing.
