3 rounds total. First was HR. Second was SVP. Third was MD. First was easy. Second was technical. Third was behavioral.
- What are the current trends in the banking industry?
- Why does the banking industry need significantly more equity than other industries?
Associate Analyst
The interview process was pretty straightforward, with 3 rounds in total. It kicked off with an HR chat, followed by a technical case study. The last stage was a face-to-face meeting with the hiring manager and an associate on the team. The manager was upfront about the company culture, mentioning it has less office politics and better work-life balance compared to other firms in the financial services industry. They did mention that the welfare and benefits might be a bit below the industry average though.
- Can you answer technical questions about financial statements?
Analyst
Had a quick 5 min chat with a recruiter. Then the coordinator set up 3 interviews, each 30 mins long. About halfway through the second 30 min session, the interviewer asked if I already understood the day-to-day and if I'd be willing to move to NYC, which wasn't mentioned initially as the job was posted in City X. No word back from the recruiter in over 4 weeks, even though they said they'd update me either way the following week.
- Can you tell me about yourself and why you're interested in this position?
- Do you feel you understand the daily responsibilities of the role?
- Would you be open to relocating to New York City for this job?
