First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Modell's Sporting Goods.
Sales Associate
The interviewer told me about the company's history and then asked me some questions about sports and the job. They also asked if I had ever shopped at Modell's before.
- What's your favorite sports team?
- Have you ever shopped at Modell's?
- Tell me about yourself.
Research Analyst
We had a 2 stage interview process. The first stage was a video call, and the second stage was an assessment day. The assessment day is used to really scrutinize the best candidates and make a final decision on who best suits the role.
- What key attributes do you think are required for this role?
Cashier
The interview was quick and easy. It focused on your hobbies and whether you play any sports. It was a very simple and short interview, about 10 minutes long, but kind of dull. They asked about your strengths and weaknesses too.
- What are you interested in and what are your hobbies?
- What sports do you play?
- Tell me about your strengths.
Assistant Manager
I applied online and after about a week, I got an email to schedule an interview. It took a bit to set up a date because the first one we picked got postponed due to a snowstorm, and then the interviewer was on vacation right after that. So, the interview finally happened two weeks after I got the initial email. I felt the interview went pretty well and that the interviewer and I really connected. He was pretty relaxed, and it felt more like a casual chat than a formal interview. The questions were mostly about my previous or current job roles and standard interview stuff, nothing too out there. Unfortunately, I guess he didn't think I was a good fit because I never heard back about whether I got the job, even after I emailed him for an update. It was pretty unprofessional to just leave me hanging like that.
- Can you tell me about your responsibilities in your last role?
- What led you to apply to Modell's?
