There were about four rounds of one-on-one behavioral interviews. The vibe was pretty chill, aiming to see how well I'd fit the culture, if I'd done my homework on the role, and how keen I was on the position and Information Governance.

I interviewed for a paralegal job at Mintz and it was a bad experience. In the second round, the manager was not prepared and didn't know about the team's work. She gave vague answers to my questions, even saying she 'doesn't pay attention in meetings.' This was weird because I'm interested in the firm. She didn't ask about my qualifications or follow up on my answers. She was vague and dismissive. What was most concerning was the bias in how she talked about my experience and career. She seemed to assume my background and interest in DEI were less important or sophisticated, even though it matched the job description. These subtle microaggressions made me question if the interview process was inclusive and fair. I'm disappointed because I expected a professional, respectful, and rigorous process from a firm like Mintz. It makes me wonder if they are really a good firm. The interview felt superficial and showed how unprofessional the admin support team is and how unqualified they are. Minority applicants, be careful if you're interested in this firm.

Applied for the role, and then got an offer for a 20-minute screener interview. About a week or two after the screener, I was invited for a callback interview. This was a 3 to 3.5-hour interview, and I could choose to do it either in person or virtually. I opted for the in-person option and ended up speaking with four attorneys.

The interview was on Zoom and was a positive experience. The interviewer gave a good description of the role, responsibilities, and expectations. They also talked about team dynamics and how my role would fit into the department's goals. The discussion was engaging and informative, giving me a better sense of the company culture and growth potential. The process left me with a strong impression of the organization and their commitment to finding the right person for their team.
