Benefits Manager
The interview was pretty uncomfortable. The recruiter immediately jumped into asking about my salary expectations and seemed concerned that I was still willing to talk even though the salary for the role was lower than I said I wanted. Then she pushed me to tell her my current salary, saying something like, “You probably make $X,” which I thought was super inappropriate and made me feel weird. I was okay with continuing the chat though because the job post didn't give enough info, like if I'd be leading a team or have direct reports, how many people the company has (so I'd know how much support they need), or any details on the total pay, like benefits and bonuses. All that stuff is really important for figuring out if the salary is fair for the job. Because of these missing details, I found the recruiter's assumptions and how she acted really off-putting. It's going to be tough to hire someone if the recruiter can't even have a proper conversation to let candidates understand the job.

Account Manager
The interview started off badly with the interviewer being rude and unwelcoming. She first asked what I knew about the company, and instead of discussing it, she aggressively told me I was wrong even though my answer was generally correct and proceeded to explain what they do, finishing by asking if I understood as if I were a child. She continued to ask questions, and her tone made it clear she disliked my answers, repeatedly asking me to rephrase them. For instance, when asked what I wanted to accomplish in the role, a vague question, I mentioned deepening relationship-building skills and supporting Millenium Health's mission. She harshly stated I hadn't answered and demanded an answer again in a sharp, seemingly angry voice. Additionally, the base salary of $50k is very low for an Account Manager. When I inquired about how compensation is earned, she responded with confusion about my question, asking if I was asking how compensation works. I then ended the call, deciding I don't want to work for a company where the hiring manager is the first impression. Be cautious before applying.

Sales Representative
I applied online and a recruiter reached out. We had a recruiter phone screen, then a hiring manager phone screen. I sent a followup email. The recruiter texted the next day to schedule a phone screen with the hiring manager's boss. After emailing both, the recruiter kept me updated with good news. The Hiring Manager then emailed asking if I could do a ride along with a rep and meet in person that day. I met f2f with the manager and the rep, which went great, and then did a ride along with the rep two days later. The recruiter called to say I was moving on to a facetime call with the VP. After that, I got a verbal offer by phone, and the official offer soon after. It was a really clear and smooth process!

Recruiter
Applied Aug 4, they reached out for availability to schedule interview which I submitted same day but did not hear back, checked back in with them on Aug 11 and no response. Then Aug 30 they finally reached back out saying job was put on pause but now open again. Had the interview next day. Recruiter was professional but when going through my experience I was cut off and directed to the agenda of what the recruiter wanted. Felt that it was way too rushed and not personal, recruiter did mention req load was high so maybe more focused on hitting all the number and contacts rather than a connect. then after comp was out of range and recruiter saying it was more than what my experience showed and basically kept telling me other candidates are better and they are gonna stick with them even though recruiter mentioned that the role just opened back up. just felt like i was just another number for them to call and no time to make a connection. And didn't like that the recruiter said that my experience didn't match what i was asking for but didn't take the time to understand why my comp request was the amount it was. And didn't like that recruiter kept saying that other candidates were basically way more qualified but again, didn't really listen to what I can bring to the company. Definitely rushed and not personal. And didn't even ask if I had any questions or care to listen of the other opportunities I had and how they were similar to what their role was.
