First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MidFirst Bank.
Business Process Analyst
A staffing company told me about this job. I had three interviews before they made an offer. First, I had a virtual interview with the recruiter. Then, I had two on-site interviews with the management team. They asked typical behavior questions and some minor critical thinking tasks. They were also very open about career trajectory.
- How would you handle a situation where you have conflicting workloads?
Product Designer
So after I did my phone interview, the recruiter told me she'd send my info along and I'd hear back within a week. When I didn't hear back for a week, I emailed her. Still no response for another week. Then I called HR and they let me know my application hadn't even made it to the hiring manager, so the HR person just forwarded it themselves. Then, like, 2 months go by and I get an email saying they weren't filling the position anymore.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Manager
I applied for a leadership position with MidFirst. I got a call from a recruiter. During the screening, the recruiter was really disorganized and rude. When I asked about the job, her tone got nasty and unprofessional. She said I'd hear back the next week. It's been 4 weeks, so I called her. She was still rude and asked if we had scheduled an in-person interview. I said no, but I wanted to check on my application. She promised to follow up the next day. Three days later, I got an email saying I wasn't being considered. If this is how they treat candidates, I get why there are so many bad reviews.
- Can you describe your career path and how it relates to this position?
Systems Application Administrator
I had a Webex screening call, and then they called me back to set up an in-person interview. They were really cool about it since I had to fly out from Colorado to Oklahoma. The in-person interview went well and on time, and I thought it was a good way for both of us to get to know each other. I was bummed though, because I didn't hear anything back for about two weeks. I called the recruiter to make sure I didn't miss anything, but I didn't get a call back. Then, the next week, I checked the portal and saw my application status said 'Not Selected.' I get that I might not have been the best fit, and congrats to whoever got the job, but I'm disappointed I wasn't even told. Especially since they knew I flew out there myself, I just assumed I'd get a heads-up that I didn't get the job. Even checked my spam folder.
- When you're troubleshooting, what are the key things you look for?
- Can you describe your process for prioritizing incidents?
- What kind of feedback would your manager give if you told them you were planning to leave?
