Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MidFirst Bank.
Business Analyst
I applied through a staffing agency and the first interview was with the hiring manager where we talked about my experience and some behavioral questions. The second interview was supposed to be with 3-4 people from the team but there were actually 10, which was overwhelming and a little nerve-wracking. My advice for anyone interviewing with mid first is to be confident and research the role well. I didn't get an offer, but I still think it's a good company. While I understand group interviews are important for team fit, clearer questions would be helpful. The manager seemed great, and I think I would have done better if I hadn't been so nervous. The staffing agency also gave me some incorrect information.
- Can you tell me about the projects you've worked on?
- Could you explain the distinction between a Business Analyst and a Project Manager?
- If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Business Analyst
I applied online. About three weeks after applying, an HR rep reached out for a phone interview, which we scheduled for the next day. The interview covered basic information about myself and standard interview questions. The recruiter seemed positive and said she'd set up an in-person interview and also mentioned other roles I might be suitable for. I emailed the rep the next day, then a week later, and again a week after that. I even emailed the main HR inbox to confirm I had her email right. I never got a response. Around 6 weeks after the phone interview, I checked the careers page and saw my status had changed to 'not selected.' I wasn't notified by email or any other means about the position's outcome, which I found unprofessional and rude.
- What makes you a strong candidate for this role?
Business Analyst
It was a pretty standard Zoom interview with a Sr. Analyst. They first went into more detail about the job than what was posted or what HR said. Then, I had to talk a bit about myself and why I was interested in this specific role. After that, we both asked each other questions.
- Given that a parking garage is planned but not yet built, and there's currently insufficient parking for employees, what short-term solutions would you suggest until the garage is completed?
