I'm not really familiar with the hiring process, I don't think it was for me. The manager asked a lot of questions and went into too much detail. They wanted me to talk about my personal experiences from internships.

First, you send in your application online. Then an HR person or recruiter looks at your resume to see if you're a good fit for the job, especially if you have experience with data, media strategy, digital marketing, or analytics. Next, there's an HR interview over the phone or video to check if you're basically a good fit, how you communicate, why you want the job, and when you can start. They'll ask stuff like "Tell me about yourself," "Why MediaCom/GroupM?" and about your salary expectations and how soon you can start. After that, for Data/Analytics roles, you'll have technical interviews focusing on things like Excel, SQL, data visualization, media metrics (like CPM, CTR, ROAS), and attribution models. For Media/Marketing roles, they might ask about campaign planning, brand strategy, or media mix modeling, and you might get a case study or problem-solving task. Then, a manager or department head will interview you to see how you handle real problems, work with others, and fit into the team, possibly using scenarios or asking about past projects. If you get through all these, they'll make an offer and do a background check, which includes verifying your work history and references.

The interview process centered on questions designed to understand my thinking. I was also given a case study to work on with limited preparation time, which included creating a presentation for it. I liked that the interviewer was friendly and helped put me at ease during the interview.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • The case study requires you to develop a launch plan for a new product for an FMCG client.
  • Given an FMCG client brief for a new product launch, prepare and present your strategy.

Had a random 30 min HR phone call screening from an unknown number. Then another 30 min interview with the same HR person who was late, followed by a 45 min interview with the hiring manager. After that, a 30 min interview with upper management and finally a 1 hr interview with the team. The HR process was super disorganized and they didn't even have the right interviewer titles. It felt like a really long and pointless process for an entry level job. Got an automated rejection email in the end. Total bummer.
