The hiring process at this company moved really fast. After I applied, I had a quick 15-minute screening call a few days later. Then, within hours, I was notified about the next interview. The following step was a 2-hour session with three managers from the team. This interview was primarily behavioral, but they also inquired about my technical background and how I'd handle specific technical scenarios. I got an offer the very next day, but I turned it down because, upon learning more about the role, it didn't align with my current career goals.

I applied online and then a recruiter called me. They didn't leave a voicemail, which was odd, but I called back because it was an NYC number. The recruiter told me the salary was 55k, which seemed really low for the job. I then had a phone interview with some technical questions that I passed, and after that, they invited me for an in-person interview. The in-person interview involved four 30-minute interviews. I felt I did pretty well answering the questions and connected with the interviewers. They said they'd let me know within a week. I sent thank you emails to everyone afterward. It's been two weeks now and I haven't heard back. I could follow up, but honestly, the salary is so low, it doesn't feel worth it.

Behavioral Technical Coding Case Presentation

A recruiter reached out and asked some general questions about my background. Then, I had a phone screening with the hiring manager where they asked about my background, some SQL, and MS Excel Pivot Table questions. After passing the phone screen, they scheduled an onsite interview for two weeks later. There were 5 rounds with 2 Sr. Analysts, a Project Manager, a Director, and an Executive Director. The first round was with the Director, who asked about my background, general media and Google Analytics questions, and one conditional question on marketing strategy. They were impressed with my solution and background and told me about MediaCom. The second interview was with a Sr. Analyst who seemed uninterested and didn't ask relevant questions, which was a bad experience. The Project Manager asked about media planning and briefly discussed my background and work samples, and was very impressed with my work and skills. The fourth interview was again with a Sr. Analyst who asked easy SQL questions and some irrelevant puzzles. This interviewer was unprofessional, laughing at me and telling me to 'just google it' when I asked for clarification on a puzzle solution. They tried to discredit my work samples with irrelevant questions. The last interview was with the Executive Director, who asked relevant questions about the media industry, access, Excel, and Tableau. However, they weren't interested because I lacked prior media industry experience. Overall, the interview difficulty was average, but I disliked the behavior of both Sr. Analyst interviewers and questioned why they considered my profile if they were seeking someone with prior media industry experience.
