First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at McCormick & Company.
Engagement Manager
The interview process involved a 30-minute introductory call with the recruiter to cover salary, location, and necessary skills. This was followed by a 30-minute 1-on-1 with the Hiring Manager to assess your background and skills and to network. Finally, there were two 60-minute panel interviews with team members where mostly behavioral questions were asked. I really appreciated McCormick & Co for being open about salary and for keeping me updated throughout the process, even after decisions were made. Even though it took about 5-6 weeks, I felt respected and appreciated. I was a bit put off by the Hiring Manager being late to the first interview and even more so for the panel, but maybe it signals we aren't a good fit since I value punctuality.

Procurement Manager
I applied for a management role at McCormick and got through to the panel interview stage. After that, I didn't hear back, even after following up multiple times. My application status was changed to "Not Selected" with no explanation after nearly two months. I know it can be competitive, but I feel companies should be as professional as they expect applicants to be. Being told I was moving forward and then getting ghosted was unprofessional and disappointing. I still respect McCormick and the career opportunities they offer, and I hope they improve their hiring process to match their values.
- What motivates you to seek employment with McCormick?
Digital Platforms Manager
I applied directly and got a call from a recruiter in Poland. I made it clear upfront that I needed a fully remote role due to commute. They agreed and I went through several interview rounds with UK team members and US leadership. After many interviews, I was told I passed and the final step was a Right to Work check. Even though most companies do this remotely, they wanted it done in person. I agreed and scheduled it. But a few days before, the recruiter told me they changed the role to hybrid, requiring 1-2 days in the office a week, which was the opposite of what we first agreed. This felt unprofessional and like a waste of my time, showing a lack of integrity. I wouldn't work with them again and suggest others get remote/hybrid agreements in writing.
- Can you describe your leadership style?
- Tell me about a time you resolved a conflict.
Procurement Manager
McCormick gave me 4 questions to answer in a PowerPoint presentation beforehand. I presented this to a group of employees as part of the interview. The interview itself involved meetings with 4 different Directors, about 30 minutes each. Then there was a larger group session where I presented the presentation I developed before the interview. A Q&A followed the presentation.
- Could you elaborate on your understanding and experience with the specific commodity you would be managing?
