Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at McCormick & Company.
Industrial Placement Student
It was a quick and straightforward interview process. They mostly asked basic behavioural questions, not very technical ones. I was interviewed by the line manager and a student who had done the placement before. Overall, the recruitment process was great and didn't have too many stages.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
Purchasing Intern
HR from Poland called me first, then I had an interview within 2 weeks. I got the offer news in 1 week because they knew I had another offer. They responded fast via email. Two friendly and open-minded managers interviewed me, and I got answers within 2 weeks. Speaking English was no problem, and it's better to be fluent in English to communicate with the UK contacts. The job is 3 remote days a week, which is nice. The salary was competitive. Not much employee welfare.
- What is your data analysis skill level?
- Which department would you prefer to join?
Intern
I had 3 30-minute interviews scheduled back-to-back, but the first interviewer was a no-show, so I ended up only having 2 interviews. I was late to the interview and they later called to let me know that's why I didn't get the job.
- How do you handle your time?
- What would you say is your greatest strength and weakness?
- Questions to show leadership skills
