First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MasterClass.
Product Manager
I applied cold and went through rounds with the recruiter and hiring manager before I withdrew my application because I got another offer. My interaction with the recruiter, Lauren, was really lovely. She was warm, personable, and treated me like a human. I was feeling a bit anxious after a call I thought went badly with the HM, and she really helped ease my mind. She even sent a reassuring email on a Friday evening so I wouldn't stress all weekend. I'm hoping this genuine and thoughtful approach reflects the company culture overall.
- Could you describe a product that you particularly like?
Director
It was a really long interview process. They had me do this project that ended up taking over 40 hours to complete. Every single interview felt like a grilling, like a functional interview where they just asked me tough questions. Then, at the end, I got a pretty standard rejection email with no helpful feedback at all.
- Why do you deserve this position?
Lifecycle Marketing Manager
Overall, I had a really great interview experience. The recruiter, Lauren, was genuine and communicative throughout the entire process, and each of the interviewers was kind and curious. Lauren provided focus areas for the interviews, which I thought was a thoughtful touch. I learned a lot about the team and their values during this process, so I was excited to accept the offer!

Learning and Development Specialist
I spoke with the technical recruiter, Lauren, first to learn more about the job and its responsibilities. Then, I had a conversation with the hiring manager. Unfortunately, I wasn't the right fit for the position, but both individuals were very communicative throughout. It seems like a lot of care and thought goes into creating and delivering their final learning programs. I appreciate being treated well as a candidate.
- Can you discuss your background and how it aligns with the requirements of this position?
