First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Marwood Group.
Analyst
The interview process took place in the summer before COVID. It consisted of three back-to-back behavioral interviews. The first two interviews were with middle managers who would become my direct supervisors. The final interview was with the managing director, who wasn't directly involved in my day-to-day work but was a consistent presence in team deck reviews and available for questions. There were no case studies, and the questions were quite standard. During the managing director's interview, the majority of our time was spent discussing my questions about Marwood.
- What makes you a good candidate for this position?
Server
The interview process was good. The staff there were amazing, and I made friends for life. It was a great group of people, so leaving was a hard choice. My friends still work there and really enjoy their jobs. The company seems to be growing.
- What is it that you can bring to this company?
Associate
The interview process for this group was pretty disorganized. It started normally enough: I applied, got a quick response, had an informational phone screen, and then scheduled an on-site interview. After that first on-site, I was asked back for a second on-site with a higher-up. This one was super informal, and they seemed to say they didn't have much say and were just there because the first interviewer asked. Then, radio silence for a few weeks until I was invited for a fourth interview with the 'head of the office.' Honestly, I wasn't sure what else there was to discuss. This interview was less than 20 minutes and I'm not sure what it achieved. The interviewer kept yawning, making me wonder if I was boring them or if they'd just eaten a big lunch. The whole experience made me think the place was a bit chaotic, lacked good communication, and wasn't clear on what they were looking for in a candidate.
- Can you describe your responsibilities in your current job?
Intern
I started with a phone interview with the COO, which was pretty relaxed and a good chance to ask questions. After that, there was an in-person meeting. The CEO and Chairman invited about 5 of us student interns to a restaurant. It wasn't really a formal interview; they talked about the company and the internship. It seemed like if you seemed interested and presented yourself well, you'd get an offer. I did ask some questions during the chat, which might have helped. It was much easier than I anticipated.
