Behavioral Technical Presentation

I saw an opening for a Senior Account Executive and they moved pretty fast to get me in. First, I had a phone interview, then I passed a writing test. After that, I had an in-person interview with some of the staff. The office was really nice when I got there, but the receptionist was just okay. I ended up waiting an extra 20 minutes after my interview was supposed to start. When I finally got in the room, they just hit me with questions right away, no small talk at all. The people there didn't seem friendly or welcoming at all. It was a terrible interview experience. Even though I have a strong PR background, they kind of laughed at me for not having the exact media skills they needed. The employees came across as really condescending. I left feeling like I wouldn't fit into such a catty and rude place. It's a bummer because I've followed the company for a while and they seem great on social media. It just goes to show that social media isn't always accurate. I wouldn't recommend interviewing here if you're looking for a supportive vibe.

I had a phone call with the COO that I thought went well and never heard back, even after following up. It would be nice to have feedback after the call even if I was no longer in the running as a potential candidate.

Behavioral Other

I applied online and got a call back from senior management within a week. They asked me to come in for an interview and to do a writing assignment beforehand. They skipped the usual phone screening and wanted to meet in person. This was a red flag, as most jobs have a phone interview first. They also wanted me to interview for a different role than I applied for. They were pushy about interview times, wanting me to come in when I couldn't because I had a full-time job. I canceled the interview because they seemed disorganized and I didn't have a good feeling.

The interview process involved one round with two interviewers conducted via Skype. They inquired about my prior marketing experience. The interviewers seemed to appreciate the questions I asked them. Despite me not being in MA at the time, they were accommodating and flexible, making the process smooth. The overall atmosphere was relaxed, and the interviewers appeared enthusiastic about their work, brands, colleagues, and the company.
