Behavioral Presentation

I went through the selection process for a Junior position and the experience was disappointing in terms of interaction. The interview followed a very rigid and robotic format, where the recruiter just read questions and filled out a form, with no room for genuine dialogue. During the conversation, I was surprised by the requirement for a live video recording, even though I had offered to send a pre-prepared material. In addition, the process also included a case study for the management. I find the number of stages (Interview + Live Video + Case) excessive and exhausting for an entry-level position.

We kicked things off with introductions. We chatted about my career history, my go-to tech stack, and what my typical workday looks like. Then they dove into questions about projects I've worked on, how I approach problems, working with a team, and general experience. After that, they gave me the lowdown on the role and what the next steps would be.

The selection process has 3 stages: first, a technical test or a case study depending on the role; second, an HR interview; and third, an interview with the project team, which might involve one to three interviews based on the project. The technical test was a multiple-choice questionnaire to be completed in 45 minutes.

Got a text about my application and was asked for my Microsoft Teams email. HR messaged me there, sent a link to their website and asked some questions, then sent a link to a timed interview questionnaire. Let them know when I was done, they asked a few more questions through Microsoft Teams and said they'd contact me later in the day after reviewing my answers. I was offered the job before the end of the day. It felt sketchy cause I was offered a job without having seen a human face.
