So basically the HR called me out of the blue, and told me I had to do this video response thingy to answer some questions from the hiring manager, which they said would be sent over after the call.

The whole interview process took around a month. I had two interviews. The first one was with my direct manager and line manager, and the second one was with the company director. There was about a week between these two interviews. After the second interview, HR got back to me in about a week with the results.

The interview process included a phone call for a self-introduction, followed by a face-to-face meeting. In the in-person interview, I had to introduce myself again, discuss projects from my resume, and complete a real-scenario coding test. They also provided paper and a data structure to test my ability to query data using SQL.

Behavioral Technical

The process was quick and HR/hiring team moved things along efficiently, leading to a verbal job offer after just one interview round. However, the candidate felt treated unprofessionally and there was no negotiation on the salary package. HR and the hiring team didn't seem to communicate, making the candidate deal with two different people separately. The company/museum team needs to manage expectations better. I was told they'd respond in about 2 weeks as they were meeting other candidates, but then HR called an hour after the interview expressing interest. They were not upfront about the salary range despite my inquiries, repeatedly saying my expected salary was too high, even though I said I was willing to negotiate. They didn't offer a counter and rescinded their offer. Then they became passive-aggressive, accusing me of not knowing it was an entry-level job, even though it was listed as senior executive and my expectations were clear. It makes me question their filtering and screening process.
