First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Marina Bay Sands.
Analyst
The interview process began about 1-2 weeks after applying with a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager. It was pretty relaxed, and I got a lot of technical questions and was asked for many use case examples. About 4 days later, I was asked to do an assessment, which had 2 questions that were pretty tough and required a lot of research, and a personality test with over 100 questions, and was given about 5 days to complete them. 2 days after submitting the assessment, HR let me know I'd passed and set up the final interview with the department director. This last interview was a deep dive into my assessment responses and my thought process, and again, I was asked for tons of use cases from my past work, which felt a bit like they were fishing for ideas. The director was nice and took a lot of notes, paying close attention to everything I said.
- Can you answer technical questions and give me examples of use cases?

The first interview was at Rise Lounge. I met with a Senior Analyst and a Senior Manager. They asked me to complete some SQL questions and then some usual interview questions about my qualifications and past work experience. The interviewers were nice. A week later, I got an email for the second interview. In the second interview, I met with the Senior Manager and another Analyst who will be mentoring me. We reviewed the SQL questions from the first interview. I was also given a marketing text to find errors in it. The next day, I got an email saying I was selected and HR would contact me. The day after that, HR called and emailed me about the offer.
- Could you tell me about your biggest weakness?
- What are your qualifications and past working experience?
- Can you solve these SQL questions?
Analyst
The hiring process involved 3 interview stages, starting with a general chat with the hiring managers about your background, what drives you, and your strengths and weaknesses. Next, there was a technical interview focusing on analysis and visualization skills. Finally, a concluding interview with the director or VP. The entire process, including interviews and tests, went smoothly and was completed within a couple of weeks. A background check also followed, taking about a week to finish.
- Why are you interested in joining MBS, and what value can you bring to our team?
- You'll have a take-home assignment using Python to clean data and generate insights for a hotel offering recommendation.
