So first there's like a 7 question thing, you get a minute to answer each. 5 of them you get to see beforehand, but 2 pop up once you start. Most questions let you rehearse. You can pick which one you want to submit. If you pass that, then you go to a face-to-face interview with some fun, interesting questions. The interviewer was nice and welcoming, but definitely analytical.

The whole hiring thing took about a month, but it really depends on how fast they need someone. First, you apply, and that can take a bit to figure out where you'd fit. It might take a while to hear back after you apply, like maybe 2 months, cause they might not be looking for a designer right then. If they do get back to you, you'll have to do a 'Homepage mock up' for a company they pick, and you get like a week for it. After you send in your design, they'll either pass or set up a phone interview. The phone interview was short, mostly just asking about you and if you can come in person (if not, they'll do a Skype call). I had 2 in-person interviews with different teams cause they wanna see if you vibe with your team, since each team is kinda its own thing. If a team likes you, they'll offer you a spot. If you accept, you gotta do a background check and a drug test. If all that checks out, you're in! Oh, and weirdly, nobody asked to see my portfolio, but I brought it anyway. We did look at a few things, but showing a 'process book' to explain my design thinking was a big plus.

I sent in my application online in early August 2017. The online app took a while, but it was worth it because it gave me a good feel for the company and prepared me for the interviews. I heard back the same day and scheduled a phone screen interview for that week. The phone screen was with the Training Manager, lasted about 30 minutes, and she was really friendly and easy to talk to. After that, she invited me to the office for an interview, which we scheduled within a week. I met with both her and the CLO at the Madwire office for about 30-40 minutes. I really enjoyed my time with them; we had a good mix of laughing and talking business. I sent a follow-up thank you note and got a response within 2-3 days to set up a group interview about a month later. About three weeks before the group interview, the Training Manager emailed to reschedule and change it from a group interview to a meeting with a specific team. The next day, I went to campus to meet with the team's leaders. This interview happened about four days earlier than planned and lasted about 30-40 minutes. I received an offer from the training manager within a week of the last interview, with a start date about 2.5 weeks after that.

I applied and after a bit I had to do an online test where I wrote some mock content for a company. Then I had a phone screen/interview. Finally, I had an in person 'tour' which was more casual, basically just to see the office and talk about the job. They told me I was a top candidate and they wanted to hire me, but in the end, someone else got the job. After that, for three or four months, I'd check in with the hiring manager monthly about openings, and they'd say no. It started with them reaching out, then I had to reach out, and eventually, they just ghosted me. It was a frustrating process because they should just hire you or not, it's not that complicated.
