It was a pretty standard interview process. The interviewer asked typical questions like 'Tell me about yourself' and 'What got you interested in Macedon?'. There were also some scenario-based questions. Because it's a software developer consultant role, they're looking for someone with experience in their tech stack and also good communication skills.

The hiring process had 4 steps and wrapped up pretty fast, taking about 3 weeks. First off, there was an HR chat to see if I'd be a good fit. Then, stages 2 through 4 involved talking with different technical folks who asked various questions. In my case, each interviewer asked about my background and tech experience, followed by a logical question that others have also mentioned.

Applied 2 weeks ago and they set up an interview. It was with HR and they said the process has 4 rounds. First HR interview, then a technical interview with a consultant, then a logical interview with a senior developer, and finally an interview with the CEO or COO. Didn't get selected for the next round.

The interview process was pretty standard, nothing too out of the ordinary. The recruiter was really nice, but the next two people I spoke with were a bit stern and direct with their questions, which was a little unnerving. The first interview was mainly conceptual, covering questions similar to those seen in previous years, like basic OOP principles and SQL. They also delve into your resume projects and aren't afraid to get technical, so be prepared for some in-depth discussions. I was surprised to advance after not feeling great about this round. The second interview was a Zoom audio call, which was unexpectedly challenging. It was primarily behavioral, but they also threw in a brain teaser. I got the classic 'how many ping pong balls fit in a bus' question. However, the interviewer seemed uninterested in my problem-solving approach and just wanted a definitive answer, which was odd. So, maybe review calculus or just look up the answer, as it's straightforward if you know the bus dimensions and ping pong ball volume. The company itself seems like a great place with a positive culture, good benefits, and dedicated people. It's a shame it didn't work out.
