The interview process at LotusFlare had four stages. First, a recruiter screen. Then, a front-end technical interview. After that, a system design round focusing on a Chat System, and also a LeetCode medium problem. The final round was another system design interview, this time on a Notification System. The whole thing was super organized and very technical. The interviewers were cool, professional, and respectful. They focused on practical problem-solving, not random trivia. The system design interviews really dug into scalability, APIs, and event-driven architectures. The recruiter was on top of communication, keeping me in the loop. It's a challenging process, for sure, but felt fair. It's great for engineers who like tackling system design problems and building things that scale. My advice? Be ready for that last interview.

Behavioral Technical

My interview experience with LotusFlare was not great. They first told me I was interviewing for a Technical Project Manager (Scrum Master) role. I got ready for that, as it fit my background. The first interview seemed to go well, and I thought the interviewer was happy with my answers. But then I got a rejection email a few days later, and it surprisingly mentioned a Product Manager position. I tried to follow up but heard nothing back in writing. Later, I called the HR person, and she said there was no mistake and that I was actually interviewing for the Product Manager job. I'm okay with not getting the job, but the inconsistency and lack of clear communication were disappointing and unprofessional. The interview invitation email was titled 'L1 Google Meet Engineering Pre-Screen @LotusFlare – Scrum Master', and the job description sent by HR was for 'Profile shortlisted for Scrum Master @LotusFlare'. The rejection email stated, 'Thank you for taking the time to apply for the Product Manager role at LotusFlare. After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that you have not cleared the interview round with the technical panel team.' I wanted to share this so others can make sure they know what position they're interviewing for before they start.

LotusFlare’s interview process usually has 3–5 structured rounds. It starts with an initial HR screening to check background, motivation, and communication skills. Then there are multiple technical interviews focusing on coding challenges, how you think through problems with algorithms, and system design. These rounds test your problem-solving skills and how deep your technical knowledge goes. The process finishes with culture and team-fit interviews, looking at your people skills, how you work with others, and if you fit the company values. The last step usually involves talking about the job’s scope, what the team expects, and salary/compensation details. They usually share feedback in a timely and transparent way.

Technical Coding

The interview process with LotusFlare was quite disappointing. I had let them know from the start that I would only be available to join after two months. Even with this information, they proceeded with four technical interview rounds and even asked me to come into their office. Although I passed all the interviews, they ultimately stated they couldn't wait and terminated the hiring process. It feels like a waste of my time and theirs, especially since this constraint was clear from day one. It shows poor planning and a lack of consideration for candidates' time.
