First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lokalise.
Senior PHP Developer
So there were like 5 stages, starting with HR for a general company/role overview. Then a hiring manager chat which included a live code review - they said not to stress and that they're communicative. After that, a system design round, and finally a cultural fit chat with the senior director of engineering. Btw, super weird, they let me go right after I signed the contract, citing 'communication' issues. This is confusing because communication was never an issue during the interview process. Total waste of my time and very unprofessional.

Community and Social Media Manager
My interview experience at Lokalise was pretty great from beginning to end. The team was always available to answer my questions, and I got a really good vibe from them overall. The process takes a bit longer than some others I've done, but I think that's pretty normal for tech companies these days. Here's how it went: 1. Initial chat with the recruiter. 2. Another chat with the Hiring Manager. 3. A live task related to the job (I had to brainstorm a campaign). 4. A 'Bar raiser' interview to check for team and culture fit. The first two interviews were what I expected, but the third one, with the live task, was quite challenging. Lokalise clearly values excellence, and while the interview difficulty was a bit higher than average, it makes sense for building a strong team. With the right preparation and skills, it's definitely doable though :)
- Can you describe your process for planning a campaign, from beginning to end?
Staff Frontend Engineer
So, the interview had 4 parts. First, a chat with the hiring manager about the role and my career goals. Then, a technical interview that was basically a code review, where I had to find and fix issues in provided code, focusing on improvements. After that, a Design System interview. They asked me to design a translation management application and its UI. Finally, an interview with the Director of Engineering. The overall process was pretty chill. They mostly asked about my understanding of a staff engineer's role, how to influence others, and strategic thinking. That last interview with the Director was the toughest, though. It felt like they just asked generic questions about strengths, weaknesses, and what others think of me, without really looking at my CV or experience. They didn't extend an offer because they felt I didn't go deep enough in the technical interview. I think it was more of a miscommunication or maybe they were looking for something else, but that's their call.

Enterprise Account Executive
The interview process with Lokalise and their Senior Leadership Team (SLT) was super smooth and put together well. They were really clear about the timing, fitting in both their own schedules and stuff happening outside, so you knew what to expect right away. From talking with the SLT at the start to meeting team leaders and people you'd work with, everything was done really well and professionally. Each chat gave me good info about how they sell, how the team works, and what the company wants to achieve, so I got a solid picture of how Lokalise operates. The last parts of the process were also easy, showing they're serious about making good decisions but also doing it quickly. All in all, it was a really well-done and interesting experience.
- Tell me about your background handling difficult enterprise sales, especially in fast-paced or SaaS settings.
