First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at loanDepot.
Trade Desk Analyst
First, there was a phone interview. Then, I had a follow-up interview with the VP. The interview with the VP was the most awkward and strange interview I have ever had. It finished in 14 minutes where he abruptly assumed I was done and didn't have any questions. His attitude and personality were so strange I don't think I would have accepted the offer.
- Can you describe a situation where you conducted financial analysis on a deal, detailing any challenges encountered and how you resolved them?
Senior Specialist
It was a pretty chill interview. They asked some really simple questions. We just quickly went over my resume and credentials. Then they asked about my proficiency and past work experiences. Besides that, they mostly talked about the job and what they expect, and they were seeing how I'd respond and if I was interested.
- What are your aspirations for the future and what is your technical expertise?
- Tell me about your future goals and your level of technical proficiency.
Mortgage Loan Officer
The interview process has two steps. First is with the recruiter, where we'll go over the job role, company standards, and benefits. Second is with the hiring manager, where we'll discuss role expectations and what you bring to the table.
- What attracts you to Loan Depot and this specific role?
- How does this position stand out compared to other jobs you've applied for?
- In what ways do you believe Loan Depot distinguishes itself from competitors?
Loss Mitigation Supervisor
The recruiter was professional and helpful. The hiring manager I interviewed with was cocky and unprofessional and seemed she didn’t even want to be interviewing in the first place. Very dry not welcoming. It was a video zoom interview. I was on video however she wasn’t. Her manager was on the call but she never introduced herself was just there hanging on the call. She wasn’t on video either. Neither addressed why I had to be on video but they felt they didn’t. Extremely unprofessional. The questions that were asked were not relevant to the position and it felt like an interrogation not an interview. As a professional in management I saw a lot of red flags and actually glad I saw them up front as this is not an environment I would want to work in.
- What motivated you to apply for this role?
