So, the interview process had three stages. First, there was an initial screening. Then, I had a video interview with the lead engineer, which involved a technical portion. I didn't do well on that technical part because they asked me a threading problem, which caught me off guard. The recruiter had mentioned OOP and threading as important topics before, but I didn't expect an actual programming question on threading. I was anticipating more LeetCode-style or OOP design questions.

Behavioral Technical

It was a two-step interview process that was pretty disorganized to set up. I had to follow up multiple times, and the person I was supposed to talk to for the last interview changed a few times, with a last-minute change and delay. There was no offer, and while I usually appreciate feedback, I just got a generic automated response. It was a really frustrating experience, especially since my interview for the second part was on November 11th, and after one follow-up while I was on holiday, I didn't hear back until November 27th with that generic response.

The whole process was pretty smooth. I did a technical coding test, and then met with some Managers and Leads. After that, I chatted with higher-ups about pay and benefits.

This was a terrible & unprofessional interview process for a senior position. The hiring manager couldn't make a decision for 3 months. The interview process started in November-23 last week and I cleared 5 rounds (3 with Indian Hiring Managers, 2 with Hiring Managers in the US). I reached the salary negotiation stage and was offered a CTC of 45 lakhs, which was a joke considering the medical insurance premium (7k), LNWICP (4,18,404.40 - not paid in cash), and a joining bonus (INR 4,00,000 paid over 3 and 6 months). This was surprising given my 15 years of HR experience and experience designing CTC for global organizations. While negotiating the offer, I suddenly received an auto-declined email. The same role was then reposted. There was absolutely no transparency. The entire process was sloppy from the start; none of the hiring managers were on time, and one was 40 minutes late for a 1-hour interview. I respect the decision to move forward with another candidate, but not after offer negotiations. It took 3 months to reach this stage, and now the recruiter wants another call for feedback, which I'm not interested in. If you're planning to join the India HR team, be aware of this unorganized, terrible, and sloppy process led by unprofessional leaders.
