It was a 6 stage process, with only 2 stages involving direct interaction with people. Everything was conducted online. I had to submit a comprehensive analysis and presentation, including a disease analysis. Following that, there was one more interview round that seemed to go well, but ultimately, I wasn't offered the position. I was a bit concerned it might have been a bogus hiring process.

I had three rounds. First was a basic call with HR for background check and stuff. Second was a technical interview with two technical people, which was nice! They asked about GCP services, Kafka, and Hadoop, plus basic data engineering questions. Third round, they gave me a scenario about migrating an application and 30-35 minutes to draw an architecture diagram for it using GCP services. Everything went well, I prepared a lot for this interview because of the role and my interest. My architecture diagram was correct, and all my answers were good. The third round was supposed to be with a manager and HR, but they never showed up. Instead, they sent a technical guy, and only one person conducted the interview. I was told they weren't looking forward. I spent almost a month on this interview, got a one-line reply, and later when I checked with the referral, they said they needed a senior person. The job posting didn't mention this, so the communication was bad, and emails came a week late; there was no professionalism.

So, first there was this questionnaire about my goals, why I wanted the job, and if I understood what a Business Analyst does. Then, round two was a 45-minute online math test, basically checking basic algebra skills. After that, a 30-minute writing test where I had to pick a prompt about pharma industry trends. There was also a 15-minute "PowerPoint" test to see if I could spot and fix small formatting and language mistakes. Round three was a 60-minute phone call with fit and behavioral questions, plus asking what I knew about the company. The fourth round was a 60-minute "case interview," but it was more like simple brain teasers and tricky questions, not a real case interview. The fifth round was supposed to be an in-person presentation in NYC, but I turned it down. They offered $75 for travel, which wouldn't even cover half the cost. I'm calling this 'Difficult' because it was super tedious, not because it was hard.

For the London office, the hiring process involved three main stages. First, HR sends a questionnaire to gauge your career goals and suitability for the role. Second, there's a Microsoft Office test to assess your skills in PowerPoint, reading, and writing. Finally, you'll have interviews with the team, including a fit interview to explore your past experience and its relevance to LSD, followed by case studies with a senior team member. The last part is a presentation you'll have a week to prepare, delivered at the London office. The HR team was incredibly supportive and helpful, ensuring candidates were well-prepared and knew what to expect. They were also very responsive and accommodating when I needed to reschedule. It was one of the best HR experiences I've had.
