I was contacted for an interview, then they ghosted me after the initial phone screening and in person interview. The interviewer gave all sorts of excuses as to why they couldn't let me know whether I was selected for an offer in the expected time frame that they initially set.

Behavioral Technical Case

Liferay gave me a really great interview experience, which shows their good work culture. The whole thing was easy, quick, and felt like they cared about the candidate. It included a screening interview, a chat with the hiring manager, and then an onsite with two important people. I've done a bunch of interviews lately, and Liferay was so different. They managed everything perfectly and finished it all in under a month, which felt professional and respectful.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • The interview felt more like a chat, focusing on actual company problems and how I'd tackle them.
  • The emphasis was on practical situations and how I'd solve them, highlighting my methods and thinking.
  • The focus was on my strategies and thought process for resolving existing issues.

The interview process started with a 30-minute remote phone screen with recruitment. Following that, there were two more interviews with management, one lasting 30 minutes and the other an hour. These were also done remotely since it's a remote position. The overall organization of the process after the initial screen wasn't great, and I wasn't impressed with the salary and benefits for the expected work.

They will check your concepts and understanding on each topic, especially in JAVA and the skills on your resume. They might ask more than just standard questions and will probe deeper if they see potential. Your personality, mindset, and decision-making skills will also be assessed. Be prepared for them to challenge every statement you make, so speak thoughtfully. My advice is to be honest about your skills on your resume; focus on quality over quantity and ensure you have deep knowledge of what you list.
